Cards, Permits, Construction....

Hey, look at our handsome new biz cards:

I'm so tired right now, but we had a really good day today. First we met with the refrigeration guy to discuss final plans for the walk-ins. The retrofitting will be a big project, but at least now we know exactly what's going to happen. Hopefully it will be done in about 3 weeks.

Then Chris and I spent the afternoon taping and spackling the drywall. This was the exhausting part. But it was fun to be there working together, making visible progress, listening to WKCR's Charles Mingus birthday tribute.

We had the front door open today, which many people took as an invitation. Most of them were non-English speakers looking for construction work, but some were just interested to hear about the store, and psyched to hear about the beer and cheese plan. Our most exciting visitor was a neighborhood businessman who had heard from a contact that our liquor license has been approved. We have no official notice of this, but what the hell - we're going to let ourselves get excited about the news anyway.
